Concrete Steps West Philadelphia

Our client wants several projects to be completed on his home. He has 7 steps to replace,  the entire front walkway and a patio.

This job is complicated for 2 reasons:

1. Parking on the block is only on 1 side but there are 100 homes.  Requires additional labor hours because we have to park a distance from the work site.
2. The steps are shared with an angry neighbor and must be saw cut to prevent damage to their steps.

However, because of our extensive years of experience,  these issues are familiar to us and we know how to execute a strategy which reduces time and therefore expenses.

Take a look at our project so far. I will update blog with final pictures and information.

New Concrete Steps Philadelphia

We have replaced these damaged concrete steps with new bull-nosed concrete steps.
Last winter was not kind to our clients steps. Our client read our reviews, viewed our YouTube videos and decided that we were best qualified to replace her steps. Of course she made a great decision. Tell me what you think.

Steps have been removed.

Low cost Waterproofing

A sump pump isn't always the best solution to solving your water problems. A more cost effective solution may be to simply correct the problem on the outside. Very often, water penetrates along the exterior perimeter of the foundation then leaks into the basement walls or floor. Adding concrete along the perimeter is a cheaper solution than a sump pump. Pitching the concrete away from the foundation works well as a waterproofing alternative.
Displayed below,  we have installed concrete around this clients foundation which solved his waterproofing issues.

Concrete Driveway Philaldelphia with trench drain

We installed this driveway with a trench drain at the front of the garage door. Our client had a lot of water penetration through the garage door.  We rectified this problem by installing a 72" wide trench drain in front of the garage door.   You will notice in the drain in the video is lower than the garage door and the concrete is pitched towards the drain.   We use 4000psi concrete in the concrete mix and steel mesh to prevent cracking.  We gave this concrete driveway a broom finish for maximum traction in the winter months.

Before

Water would accumulate under the concrete.  In the winter months the water expanded and cracked the concrete.  A trench drain with a stone driveway base is the remedy for this clients problems.

The drain is precisely leveled.
